Claire Adkins of Martinsville Earns All-CAA Honors in 400 Individual Medley

James Madison swimming and diving's Claire Adkins earned All-Colonial Athletic Association accolades for her efforts in the 400 individual medley during the 2017 CAA Championships.

Adkins came from behind over the final lap to overtake Towson's Ashley Illenye to win the 400 IM with a time of 4:19.54, the second-fastest time in program history. The event win was the first individual championship in the senior's career and helped her to her first All-CAA honnors.

Adkins tallied 42 individual points over the championship meet to tie for 10th-most by a participant. The Dukes finished second to William & Mary at this year's championships.
