Claire Adkins of Martinsville Wins 400 Individual Medley at 2017 CAA Championships

James Madison swimming and diving's Claire Adkins was crowned the 400 Individual Medley Champion at the 2017 Colonial Athletic Association Swimming and Diving Championships.

Adkins advanced to the championship final after turning in a time of 4:23.94 during preliminary action to be seeded second heading into the final.

The senior earned the indvidiual championship with a time of 4:19.54, a personal best and the second-fastest time in program history in the event.

With her performance, Adkins was awarded All-CAA honors for the 400 IM event.

The Dukes finished second at the 2017 championships to William & Mary.
