2017 Apr 24

With an impressive performance at the plate during Sunday's doubleheader sweep of UNCW, junior Megan Good was honored as Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Good has now won a total of eight weekly honors from the conference this season as she racks up her second Player of the Week nod. She has also earned six weekly pitching accolades over her junior campaign.

Over a rain-shorted series against the Seahawks, Good went 3-for-4 at the plate for a team-leading .750 batting average. All three of Good's hits went for extra-bases as she knocked two doubles and a home run for a staggering 2.000 slugging percentage. With help of two walks, Good also held a .833 on-base percentage over Sunday's doubleheader. Good led the team with four RBIs while also scoring two runs.

In the circle, Good retired 13 consecutive batters en route to a 4-1 victory against the Seahawks to notch her 28th win of the season. She also dealt 1.2 innings of one-hit relief over game two of the series as she recorded her first save of the year. Good ended the weekend with a 0.81 ERA as she allowed one run off five hits while striking out four.

The USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year finalist continues her national prominence statistically. She currently leads the national in victories (28) and shutouts (12) while also ranking second in ERA (0.49), third in hits allowed per seven innings (3.14), 14th in strikeouts (210) and 15th in walks allowed per seven innings (0.98).

Good also ranks in the top 50 nationally in batting average, RBIs, RBIs per game and strikeouts per seven innings.

Sweeping their third consecutive series, the Dukes pushed their win streak to eight consecutive games while improving to 39-6 overall and 12-2 in the league standings. JMU leads Hofstra (9-5) in the league standings and jumped four spots to No. 16 in Monday's NCAA RPI release.

JMU makes its final road swing of the regular season on Wednesday, April 26 with a doubleheader against North Carolina. First pitch at Chapel Hill is set for 4 p.m.
