Megan Good of Mount Sidney Wins Third Consecutive CAA Pitcher of the Week Honor

2017 Feb 28

With three shutout appearances, including a one-hit performance against No. 2 Auburn, junior Megan Good was tabbed as Colonial Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week for the third consecutive week, the league announced Tuesday.

Good earns her ninth Pitcher of the Week accolade after an undefeated weekend at the Tiger Invitational to improve to 8-0 on the season, helping No. 12/13 to a 12-2 record. Over 17.0 innings, Good allowed just five hits and four walks while striking out 26 batters.

The junior opened the weekend with a 10-0 victory over Umass Lowell, combing with freshman Molly Meenan for the shutout. Good allowed one Riverhawk hit while striking out seven over four innings. Her second victory over the weekend came against North Dakota as Good struck out nine batters in an 8-0 victory.

Good capped the weekend with a one-hit shutout against No. 2 Auburn as the Dukes snapped the Tigers' 13-game win streak with a 1-0 victory. The right-hander struck out 10 Tigers to hand Auburn its first shutout loss since 2015.

The junior has now made five consecutive shutout appearances and has not allowed a run in 32.2 innings. Over the first month of the season, Good has five shutouts in eight starts, while combining for two additional shutouts. She holds a 0.27 ERA over 51.0 innings of work and has struck out a total of 78 batters.

Nationally, Good ranks second in victories, shutouts and hits allowed per seven innings (2.33) while ranking fourth in strikeouts and 10th in ERA.

For her efforts, Good was also named Fast Pitch News National Pitcher of the week.
