Olivia Lehman of Centerville Named CAA Diver of the Week

With a career-best performance during James Madison's final regular-season meet, senior Olivia Lehman was tabbed as the Colonial Athletic Association Diver of the Week for the fourth time this season, the league announced Tuesday.

The recognition also marks the eighth selection of her career as Lehman dominated the field in the both the 1-meter and 3-meter events during the Duke Dog Invite, turning in a total of four NCAA Zone qualifying scores over the weekend.

Lehman opened competition with a person-best score of 321.90, the sixth-highest score in program history, to win the 3-meter preliminaries. The senior won the event final with 314.00 points, the eighth-best total in program history, despite balking during the fourth round of dives.

Winning the 1-meter preliminary with a score of 293.55, Lehman was primed for a weekend sweep but missing two dives during the finals dropped the senior to eighth. Lehman rallied in the final round to post a final score of 285.10 and edged out teammate freshman Hope Byrum for the top spot.

James Madison swimming and diving will trek to Christiansburg, Va. to compete in the Colonial Athletic Association Swimming and Diving Championships. Competition is slated for Wednesday, Feb. 22 through Saturday, Feb. 25. Preliminaries will begin at 10 a.m. with finals scheduled for 6 p.m. each day.
